Helicopter ATP
Obtaining the Helicopter Airline Transport (ATP) rating is quite an accomplishment. It takes many years of experience, training, and hard work.
There are several prerequisites for obtaining your ATP. The prerequisites and Aeronautical Experience requirements are listed below.
Our training program to achieve this level of certification depends on previous experience and time logged. Our program of instruction is individually tailored to each applicant, but includes a minimum of 7 hours of ground instruction and 5 hours of flight Instruction.
The cost of the course is $3,000 plus any additional required training hours.
The DPE fee is $1200.

Eligibility Requirements for a Helicopter ATP Rating
Summary of eligibility requirements IAW 14 CFR 61.153 for a helicopter ATP rating.
• Must be at least 23 years old
• Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
• Be of good moral character
• Holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument rating
• Meet the aeronautical experience requirements below
• Pass a knowledge test
• Pass a practical test
Aeronautical Experience for the Helicopter ATP Rating
Summary of aeronautical experience requirements IAW 14 CFR 61.161 for a helicopter ATP rating.
• At least 1,200 hours of total time as a pilot
• At least 200 hours of flight time in helicopters
• At least 500 hours of cross-country flight time
• At least 100 hours of night flight time, of which 15 hours are in helicopters
• At least 75 hours at pilot in command in helicopters
• At least 75 hours of instrument flight time, with at least 25 in a helicopter
